Scholarship Description

The Marple Newtown Soccer Association (MNSA) Scholarship Program is designed to recognize high school seniors who are planning to attend college (or other postsecondary educational institution) and who have demonstrated (1) the qualities of sportsmanship, leadership and character, (2) a commitment to academics, (3) a commitment to the sport of soccer, and (4) a commitment to the programs of the MNSA. Three scholarships of $500 each will be awarded.

Selection Process

Interested candidates are encouraged to fill out all application materials and select an academic teacher to complete the Teacher Evaluation form and a soccer coach or administrator to fill out the Coach’s Evaluation form. Applications are available on our website.  All materials must be postmarked no later than May 15th of the year of high school graduation. A committee of The MNSA Board of Directors (the “MNSA Scholarship Committee”) will review applications and select three MNSA Scholarship Winners, each of whom will receive $500.  Winners will be chosen based on the criteria set forth above under “Scholarship Description.”  All decisions made by MNSA are final.  Chosen recipients will be notified directly and an announcement of the winners will be posted on the Club’s website and may be disseminated to local news media outlets.

Eligibility

  1. Applicant must be in his/her senior year of high school, with expected graduation
  2. Applicant must be entering an accredited college, university or other post-secondary educational institution in the following fall.
  3. Applicant must have participated in programs of MNSA.Current or former members of the MNSA Board of Directors and their immediate family members (defined as spouses, children, step-children, parents, siblings, in-laws) are not eligible.
